On August 4th, one hundred nineteen golfers participated in the first annual Fawn Lake Church Golf Tournament held on the Fawn Lake Country Club course. The event raised $20,000 that was distributed equally among the church’s mission partners, Beauty for Ashes, the Brisben Center, Africa New Day, Fredericksburg Food Bank, Taiwan Church Planters, and FLC Youth Ministry. Twenty-eight sponsors’ cash donations ranging from $135 to $3,000 contributed significantly to that total. Twenty-seven business and individuals donated items for meals, a silent auction, a raffle, and prizes for the tournament winners. Twenty-one volunteers from the church assisted in the planning and on the day of the tournament. The Fawn Lake Church family is grateful to all who played, supported the tournament through donations, or offered their personal time, and appreciates the fine work of the staff provided by the Fawn Lake Country Club.
