Spotsylvania County Approves Special Use Permit

Supporters after the April 14th Meeting
On April 14, 2026, the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a Special Use Permit allowing the construction of Fawn Lake Church’s physical facilities on its property located on Orange Plank Road. The facility will be located on the north side of Orange Plank Road opposite the commercial entrance to the Fawn Lake community. This approval culminates a process begun two years earlier with the purchase of the twelve acre parcel.
Fawn Lake Church purchased the property three days after learning that it was available. The sellers accepted FLC’s bid even though it was lower than all other bids stating that they wanted to support the building of a church on the property. An anonymous donor provided the funds to purchase the property and underwrite much of the preparation of the request for the special use permit. Several other anonymous donors have matched donations to a fund established for the design and construction of the facilities. FLC will now move into the design phase of the project.
Plans provide for the initial construction of a multi-purpose space to be used for worship and fellowship. That will be followed later by the construction of a dedicated worship facility and outdoor pavilion.
We are thankful to God who has provided for this project and to all who assisted in the preparation and processing of the special use permit application. We look forward to the completion of the facilities that will provide opportunities for worship, education, missions, and support of the Fawn Lake community.
